Oak Valley Elementary is a neighborhood school nestled in the Santa Ynez Valley, about one mile west of US Highway 101, in Buellton. It serves about 440 students in grades K-5. Oak Valley's mission is to insure that all students become motivated, successful learners who contribute to the global community. Success is developed through a strong academic, standards-based learning environment. Students are provided a variety of challenging learning experiences under the guidance of a dedicated, professional, nurturing staff, committed parents, and a supportive community.

Oak Valley's facilities include a large playground equipped with areas for a variety of games and activities, including developmentally appropriate playground equipment and an expansive playing field.

Oak Valley's curriculum is comprehensive and research-based, with a strong emphasis on language arts. Programs are closely aligned with the California content standards. Teachers have developed and follow grade-level academic pacing plans to insure that all critical standards are well-taught and reinforced. Students' progress is frequently monitored with common assessment tools across their grade level. Teachers collaborative regularly to discuss student progress and plan instruction.

Oak Valley students visit the school library regularly to choose appropriate reading materials and receive instruction in library skills. Computers for student use are found in both individual classrooms and a computer learning lab. High speed Internet access is available throughout the campus. Students receive formal music instruction weekly from our certificated music teacher.

The Oak Valley campus recently completed Phase II of its expansion. This project added nine additional classrooms, a dedicated music room, covered walkways and eating areas, an Art/Science building, and a larger Library and Computer Lab.
